Volvo Group is currently seeking a high energy Ergonomics & Human Factors Feature Leader to join our team in Greensboro, NC! 

Our team, Cab Engineering, is part of Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT), a division of Volvo Group North America. Cab Engineering North America has the responsibility for delivering Cab Projects, Cab Architecture solutions, and Cab Features for the Mack Truck and Volvo Truck brands. We develop new and advanced cab solutions for our future trucks while continually adapting our current products to new and different market and customer demands. What You Will be Doing

As a Feature Lead Engineer you will provide technical and functional expertise in the areas of ergonomics and human factors to enhance the design, manufacturability, and serviceability of equipment and controls for the vehicle cab and surrounding areas (with a particular focus on the Cab Body, Exterior and Interior areas). This is done through the application of digital human modeling software, used for evaluation and design of driver environments for commercial and global truck interiors and exteriors 

 

Who You Are 

You are an Engineer that can collect and interpret the principles, theories, and concepts of ergonomics and human factors whilst being able to apply them in an innovative and original method to further the development of the products. The candidate should be an energetic and enthusiastic team player with customer focus and able to lead and direct work cross-functionally. A person that is action oriented and values the differences.

 

 Requirements: 

  • Minimum BS Degree in Engineering, preferably MS with Human Factors, Ergonomics Engineering or Biomechanics.
  • 8+ years of experience applying general human factors and ergonomics principles/techniques to the design and evaluation of transportation products or other relevant industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of product development projects within the driver environment in cars and/or in commercial vehicles 
  • Good knowledge in ergonomics including how ergonomics simulation as well as how engineering judgment is applied to ergonomics 
  • Have a good ability to communicate both in written and spoken English 
  • Competent in Catia V5 (or similar CAD Software), Ramsis, and Human Builder
